Best NCC Cadet 2017: Ludhiana girl brought pride to the city as she bagged this year’s best NCC cadet award from the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Ashanya, 14-years-old is a student of the Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar.
Ashanya stood first in the All India Best Cadet Competition (junior category) in the NCC camp in New Delhi that started from January 1. She was felicitated with a gold medal, certificate and a baton in the special NCC rally in Delhi cantonment on Saturday by PM Narendra Modi.

Ashanya is a cadet of 3 Punjab girls’ battalion. She underwent a rigorous training prior this camp which extended for six months and under the coaching of mentorship of Colonel Sandeep Bhatia, commanding officer of 3 Punjab Girls’ Battalion unit.
“She stood first in almost all the camp activities and assignments, which is why she made a cut for getting declared as the best candidate. It is a big achievement since the camp had a large number of NCC cadets from different pockets of the country”, Colonel Sandeep Bhatia said in an interview.
He told that Ashanya is an aspiring Army officer.
